"A big thank you to everyone in the 'Will Me On' team. It's amazing how quickly everything has happened and how the campaign is evolving form day to day.
Chris first spoke to me about the general idea on the day I came home form hospital after a hip replacement. Tomorrow I go back to work (8 weeks post op) and as I've reached my milestone and a time of reflection, it's 'hit me' how much has been achieved by so many people working together voluntarily, all using their particular expertise to work towards a common goal, helping my son to have every opportunity to follow his dream. Will is in such a privileged position, having the team, sponsors and banner partners having the faith in him to 'Will him on'.
As a parent it's never easy to know what's the best option is for a child, but what I feel sure of is that Will will never regret being given the opportunity to follow his dream, whatever the outcome. Meanwhile apart from the table tennis, he is living abroad independently for weeks at a time, learning languages and studying with the Open University, developing many transferable skills which should stand him in good stead whatever the future brings.
Communication has to be the key to adjustment of life with a young son away. I hadn't realized how reassuring I would find the 'Twitter' tweets on the 'Will Me On' site. During the tournament at the weekend it was wonderful to know exactly what was happening all the time and felt far more involved in the process than usual. This benefit hadn't occurred to me when Chris outlined his plan.
On Wednesday Will comes home again for the Nationals at Sheffield. Time for me to get out and restock the fridge!"

Hi Jeanette, thanks for your kind words from myself and all within 'Team WillMeOn', it does indeed seem that a lot has happened within a short period of time, but there have been a few heart stopping moments along the way as a few of the team would agree!
Of course a lot has happened recently but let us not forget that without a good solid up bringing and an environment under which Will could discover his direction none of this would have been possible at all. It might be time to give yourselves a pat on the back as well for how Will has turned out?
I remember that dark cold night at the beginning of January 2009 on the day you came out of hospital going through the whole WillMeOn concept (was it only 8 weeks ago?). I saw a few blank looks as I was going on about twitter and how great it would be. I'm glad you get it now! It is good to see a really excellent use of a modern day web service that is providing a direct communication channel between William and all his interested followers!!
